Hi all,

Been browsing here a while and have had no one with issues like what I am having. I picked up this console just recently and have tried it on a bunch of TV's with no luck. I decided to take her apart and have a look inside. There isn't much in there at all. The first probe I attempted was on the power cable leading to the mainboard from the DC module. What do you know, there is no power. So I began looping back and I have found power does not pass the orange 448 sitting inbetween one of the power feed rails. I made an attempt to bypass the diode(I have no idea what purpose this diode serves, is it a polarity protection diode?) and the method to bypass just caused my DC adapter to flash its green power light.

I was thinking of installing an LED indicator light in the unit and tapping in somewhere inside. I have a couple questions.

Does power get directly modified by the switch or does the switch control a signal rail? If the power is fed through the switch, could I tap in and install an LED off the switch to indicate the unit is taking power?

Secondly, is this normal? Should I be reading 0 volts on the terminals on the board when the power is on at the wall and the unit switched on? I have not tried batteries to see if it makes a difference, who has C batteries anymore?

Any advice would be great. For power I am using a 9v 500ma DC Plantronics adapter which has the -ve on the outer surface and the +ve on the rod in the center.

Does anybody have any translations for the adjustments on the underside of the unit? I will be running this on a Samsung Australian TV which may or may not be NTSC compatible, I won't know yet, but channel 0 - 4 are my best chances at receiving a signal.

Cheers guys.

Cheers!

Hmmm, I think maybe a place like assemblergames could help you more?  ???
Not much talk about color TV here.

My colleague tried to AV mod one a while ago, but couldn't find any good method.
