Corrupt a Wish

Because you never specify what your wish is, it isn't corrupted. (But it is, because you wanted it corrupted.....wait a minute)

I wish that I had 10,000 famicoms.

MaxXimus

You get your famicoms and most are broken on arrival. The ones that did work were 220v for some reason and blew when you plugged them in, along with the outlet and the brand new 80inch CRT TV you bought... Damn.

I wish that I hadn't sold my super Mario world Famicom for $40 a few years ago.

A few years ago, you thought "I already have the SNES version of this game, why would I need an inferior port? I'll sell it for $40, I'm hungry and I could use a nice dinner."

You write the post. "WTS - Super Mario World Famicom [RARE]". You think over it. "Maybe I won't sell it, it's a nice piece to have in the collection. In fact, I'm gonna go play it now."

You insert the cartridge into the Famicom. It doesn't work. You take it out, blow on it, and insert it with more force this time. It turns out you used too much force and the fragile game card shatters, PCB included. You develop PTSD and severe depression and eventually you go to the hospital and your brain is removed, and the only game you are now capable of playing is Call of Duty.

I wish that River City Ransom on 198 in 1 was in English.

Shumi Nagaremono

River City Ransom is now in English.  But a penguin breaks into your room and absconds with it.

I wish light guns worked on HDTVs.

maxellnormalbias

Light guns work on HDTVs due to a decrease in scaling lag. However, as technology keeps advancing, the time it takes to scale 240p to 1080p HD actually takes a negative amount of time, meaning the Famicom emits the HD signal before it was scaled, and since they didn't have 1080p technology in 1983, at one time in 1982 Gunpei Yokoi walks into the room and says "WHY THE F**K IS IT IN 1080P? THAT'S NOT COMPATIBLE WITH ANYTHING! *sigh* Famicom project's scrapped. Guess we'll have to release the colour TV game 32." Then the fabric of reality rips itself apart, and Kinaman from 1995 ends up in 1982 and finds this "Family Computer" prototype and notices it looks a lot like a Dendy. So he sells the idea to Steepler and the Dendy became the most well-known console ever, spawning the Super Dendy and Dendy64. Eventually one time in 2015 someone on the Dendy World forums named Shumi Nagaremono wished that his Dendy® Completely® Original™ LightGun®™ worked on an HD TV. Then the world explodes.

I wished that they made a pulse line Super Mario Bros.

Shumi Nagaremono

The pulse line version is much more rare than the more popular box-art version and commands hundreds of dollars, putting it out of reach of most fans *and* all-but guaranteeing that few full sets of pulse line games are assembled.

I want a re-release of the original Game Boy in Famicom colors.

MaxXimus

A Gameboy with the famicom color scheme is just re released and you are extremely excited to buy it. You wait in line for days and spend a fortune as it is in extreme limited quantities. You finally get your hands on one and as you open the box some dust gets in your eyes and causes you to go color blind. Now instead of white you see grey and instead of red you see more of a pinky purple effectively making your brand new gameboy look just like an original gameboy to you.

I wish I had the knowledge to program an emulator.

maxellnormalbias

Oh, this one's easy. You get the knowledge to program an emulator for the Philips CDi.

I wish that Nintendo released the Famicom in Canada/USA a few years after the NES as a devkit of sorts, packaged it with a 72-60 converter, and all that.

Shumi Nagaremono

The Famicon devkit is released.  Through the butterfly effect, the Cold War goes nuclear hours after the launch.

I wish the proceeds from that Stadium Events auction would be donated to a worthy children's charity.
