It plays NES games and requires an adaptor to play Famicom games. The system does come with an adaptor, but its useless to the Yobo as its a Famicom-to-NES adaptor, not an NES-to-Famicom adaptor as would be nessesary.

Wait, that sounds right.  If it only plays NES games, then wouldn't a Famicom (what it doesn't play) to NES (what it will play) adaptor work? :P

Does it look like this?

Other way, Jedi.  That adapter has a female 72 pin connect and male 60 pin (Fami).  You'd need something with a 60 pin female connector and 72 pin male.

Right. I don't have a 72-to-60 pin NES-to-Famicom adaptor, so I tore apart a copy of Gyromite and it serves as a homemade adaptror. But if you have an actual one then you can use that of course too.

??? Wait, so the one in the picture; that's what comes with... oh, never mind.

Jedi, that one in the picture has the same edge connector as a Famicom cart, thus is meant to plug into a Famicom system and you put a NES game in the top part w/the 72 pins.

Um. Not so reasonably priced: HERE.

Derrrrr! I know.  But Satoshi Matrix said it came with the wrong one, so I assume this is what he's talking about.

The Yobo comes with a 72-pin NES compatible connector. You need an adaptor to fit into this connector and supply a 60-pin connector in order to play Famicom games. The adaptor the Yobo comes with has a 60-pin input end but a 72-pin output end, making it the wrong adaptor that won't fit into the Yobo.

I hope that clears things up.

...now if only I could find a place to buy one.  I wanted a "Pocket Fami", but it seams that they do not exist anymore.  This would be the next best thing, but I can't even find one of these.  :(
I am currently working on a homepage...  details to follow.

Does anyone know where I might be able to buy one of these or be able to aquire one for private sale? I'd like to check one out without paying inflated ebay prices. If they retail for $50US in Japan, then I'll pay that plus shipping. I just don't want to pay something redicious for one.

The only one I've found on ebay is going for almost $100 Canadian PLUS shipping.

so has anyone gotten one of these? I'm not sure whether this or the pokefami is better, though at least the pokefami is stylish

I'd buy one, but I don't want to pay $100 for one. If anyone can point me to a more resonable seller I'll get one and report back to you guys. So far I haven't been able to find any good deals on ebay, or even many deals at all. Maybe yahoo japan is more resonable?
