Hey all, I'm getting my twin RGB/Component out modded next week. Now I've been wanting to replace the AV/ Power inputs for a while because the AV ports are discolored and rusty and the power input plastic is cracked, so I have two questions,

1. will the mod replace the AV slots anyway?

2. where can I get a replacement power input?

1. I don't think so. Most mods use a mini din 8 connector or a snes multi out connector. So the Av ports will remain
2. The power connector is 5.5 x 2.5mm. You can search for it on ali for 5.5*2.5mm pcb

There are some folks who have kicked out the whole 5V regulator part and replaced the power connector with standard USB B (like in printers and such) port. You could run the system with standard 5V 1A smartphone wallcharger with a printer-cable attached to it. Also you eliminate the possibility to burn down your console with the wrong polarity AC/DC adapter (center pin neg or pos) because it takes a lot of brute-force to stick the USB cable inside the wrong way :)

in my practice there are no famicoms/famiclones casualties from wrong polarity  :fire:

The only thing that blows is 7805, but smoke and popping sound is scary if you don't know that ;)

I have a "mod" for famiclones to run them on AC current transformer about 9-12V and 500mA or more if you do not have DC center negative adapter with the similar specifications :D just cut the positive trace and add diode, and a big capacitor on the input (i putt 4700 μF 16V, and on the output for example 100 μF 6V or more like me)  , you can make full bridge rectifier by 4 diodes if you want, but just one is enough for those crappy famiclones  ;D
BTW this is my improvised heat-sink made from tin metal :D
