Hey all,
I just got Akumajou Densetsu and it won't play its special VRC6 sounds when I use the AV outputs on my modified famicom. I get full sound when using the RF output, but the overall quality is poor. So is there a way to modify the console to get enhanced sound through the AV outputs? Thanks.

Edit:
This is model HVC-001.

Maybe you're tapping the audio signal before it gets mixed with the cart's audio? Try tapping it where it enters the RF modulator.

I couldn't open it up to see what the person did during the modification because one of the heads on the screws was very chewed up. I'll just have to live with it like this...

Too bad... Maybe you could 'drill' the screw out using a low speed medium power drill with a non-pointy bit rotating counterclockwise to mechanically force the screw to rotate out of its socket? There are lots of techniques to remove mangled screws.

Maybe if you have a dremel you could re-do a flat thread across the screw? Just enough to pick it with a flathead screwdriver. It should have enough matter left enough to do it, most mangled phillps type screws are eroded in a conical shape.

Maybe I'll attack it with a dremel. And I probably won't try drilling it out, as that would ruin the casing.

sorry to revive this old thread, but...
anyone know the screw size for the HVC-001? I may end up getting a screw extractor, but I don't want to take out one of the other screws to show to the store unless necessary.

Now, on the Audio Circuit solder the inputs (doesn't matter which goes where) to pins 1 and 2 of the main processor of the Famicom.

Would this process mix in the cart's special audio?
