I'm interested in the possibility of importing some Super Famicom games but I don't own a Super Famicom, just a standard north american SNES. I don't know specifically, but I beleive I heard that like with Sega's later gen Mega Drive carts being shaped differently , you need to either need to modify the casing of the console, buy an adaptor or use a Game Genie.

How does it work with the SNES? do the same three rules apply?

lol this is the easiest thing you will ever do:

using your fingers, open the snes cart slot.

you see those little thin tabs? cut them with a plier

Nope that's it. It's the best and easiest way to mod your SNES!!!

And if you have a SNES 2, I don't think you even have to do that.

Oh really? I wasn't 100% sure.

Still though, it's such a simple mod.

Alright! So now that Super Famicom Wars is well on its way......can anyone recommend Super Famicom titles? I'm looking for titles that either don't have an SNES equalient or are drastically different. I'm not looking for Final Fantasy VI or something that's an RPG.

Umihara Kawase

It looks like it's stupid expensive on ebay, though.

Racketboy has a great breakdown of "Undiscovered SNES games," many of which are only available on the SFC. Here's a link to check out: http://www.racketboy.com/retro/2007/02/best-undiscovered-super-nintendo-snes.html

Hope that helps!

By the way, be sure to let us know when your Super Famicom Wars arrives, I'd like to see if there is a startup menu on the loadable cart.

If JC is fine with it, I'd gladly post an article about it.
