SOTN or NitM?

I'm trying to decide if I should get a PS1, to play Castlevania: SOTN, or a Sega Saturn to play Nocturne in the Moonlight (SOTN with more areas and Maria as a playable character).

I'm leaning toward a Sega Saturn because it has more features, plus I already found out how much a mod-chip would cost.

P.S. I don't plan to buy these games, they made ROMS for a reason.

At least you are going to buy the system. Emulation just isn't the same. :)

Yea I on a system like N64 that has a million different buttons, keyboards often get confusing when trying to play them.

I really am not a fan of pirates but when a game like NitM goes for around $70 thats just too much.

Nocturne has slowdown issues (some pretty nasty ones, from what I've heard).  I'd only play it if you've already played through SotN multiple times and are looking for something a little different.

HAS to be SotN, the BEST castlevania game of all (yes even beter than super castlevania on the snes)
The Jap PSX version also comes with an excellent soundtrack cd!
SotN is also excellent on the 360!, it's one of the few arcade games I bothered downloading!

Yea I was going to get a Saturn but then I would be afraid I wouldn't be able to understand what items were.  Then again it might not be a problem and Saturn has a lot of fun games from what it looks like like Radiant Silvergun and Virtual On.

Any time you compare two games and one is Symphony of the Night you're basically pitting a bulldog against a inchworm.

Easily get SOTN. Its like the Super Mario Bros. 3 of the Playstation.

Oh, is it fall already? (poor joke about how they seem to come yearly)

You know what. Portrait of ruin was too much Castlevania for me. It was the first one that I played to the end because I made myself. I don't know if it was just too many of the same thing or if it just wasn't as fun. I really feel like it's time for something new... Even if not a reinvention, just something new!

Yea a lot of Metroidvanias/Castletroids really are the same.  But they are completely reinventing the series with this new game.

Here's a link you can get more info at http://ds.ign.com/objects/958/958543.html

It doesn't sound like a "complete reinvention" to me.  Sounds like another tweak to the weapon/items system.

I dunno, I reallyu enjoyed PoR. and DoS. and AoS. and SotN. The ones I didn't like? CotM, HoD and the 3D PS2 garbage.
