Anyone here have a CopyNES?

With the excitement of the Retrode lately, I got to thinking of the CopyNES, which serves the same purpose.

Now, almost all NES roms are easily available online so it seems silly for me to get one myself, but I'm hoping someone here has a CopyNES because I thought of a game I have that I'd really love a ROM for - Battle Kid.

I bought Battle Kid a few months ago and the game has kicked my ass like no other. I'd really like to put the game on my PSP Xbox and Wii so I can play with the aid of savestates. Problem is, there's no ROM available for it because of fear of it hurting sales of the retrozone game.

I'm hoping someone here has a CopyNES and Battle Kid and can dump the game for me privately.  I'm obviously not asking for anything publicly. I just want to know if anyone has the means to do it.

If so, I'm even willing to lend my copy for someone to dump the rom.

Battle Kid is amazing, but it's also SUPER hard and more frustrating than Ninja Gaiden and Battle Toads combined.

Wow, that's an impressive feat to achieve. I too want to try this game now.

QuoteRegarding rom distribution, I'm planning to just make the roms to my older games be freeware by the end of this year.  This game will probably follow suit later on.

The guy who makes the games actually binds me by contract saying not to give out rom copies.  Kinda silly-sounding, but that's the way he does it.  This way we both get paid.

So wait a couple of years and he'll release it.  For the moment he's bound by contract not to release the rom.

The fact that there's no easily-attainable rom out there already suggests that there's some kind of copy protection.  Bear in mind that the manufacturer of the cart is the same guy who makes the CopyNES.  If there's a trick to making it not able to dump a rom, he obviously would know it.

It's frustrating due to unfair (or seemingly unfair) level design and a one-hit-kill game mechanic.  If everything in Ninja Gaiden killed you in one hit, I'd say the two games would have pretty much equal difficulty.  Battletoads is only difficult because of the limited continues.  You can't really compare it to Battle Kid.

From the pictures it just looks like an unrom or anrom cartridge. I'm sure the only reason the rom isn't out there is because people are nice. Like I have a copynes, but you won't find me dumping it anytime soon.

I can post a photo of the PCB if it helps. It looks like an MMC1 at best, so I don't think there should be any trouble dumping it. If anyone has the means to do this, please PM me. I'm not looking to distribute the ROM, simply to transfer my existing copy to another format.
