The voltage doesn't count. But why buying on eBay, when your local electro-store has them cheaper?

I live in Israel in the countryside and i don't know so much electronic shops around here..
i always buy from Ebay
so as soon as the 2 chips arrive , i just hook them up and should be OK?

Buy two fuses. First try to replace the fuse only, and when you blow that fuse too, then replace the 7805.
Personally, I think only the fuse will be bad. And I still think you should be okay with a normal wire
