I think my RF box blew up.

Is it normal to have all this yellow fuzz inside the shielding of my RF box inside my Famicom?

Yea, I don't get any video. I've tried channels 95-98 on multiple TVs and everything.

Tried my power adapter on my Genesis and it worked, so it's not that.

Doing an AV mod instead of using RF doesn't sound like the hottest idea right now for two reasons:
1) What if the Famicom is dead-dead? I can't test it nor is there an LED to see if it's on.
2) The yellow stuff might spread over time anyways killing the rest of the system.

Is there any way I can get a replacement, or is there an easy fix? It seems to be all over everything in there. :S

Unfortunately I don't have a camera, but imagine dust all over inside that's yellow and doesn't move when you blow on it... and it covers the board and various things attached to it.

If it is from blown el caps, is there a way to clean up the inside and replace the caps?

In the RF shielding box thing it's that red arching/spiriling thing poking up that's covered the most, with it leaking onto the rest.

Hm? So it's fixable? Would it be the coil that would produce all that yellow stuff?

Just to be sure that that's the case, I'll see if any of my friends own a camera.

Aye I just got a hold of a multimeter.

It's dead, Jim.

No power.

It's probably due to a fried 7805 or bad fuse. I'd try replacing the 7805 first since that sounds like a more likely cause.
