Famicom Cartridge Slot damage

I bought a PowerPak the other day for my Famicom and decided (stupidly) to try and mod the cart converter I had to carry the cartridge audio correctly for carts with sound chips on board.

I followed the you-tube video here to do it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WsfUviciKxs

Unfortunately my soldering skills are poor at best and I inserted the convertor into the cart slot with some lumpy solder and it damaged the socket. It still plays but sans audio :-( I can't believe what an idiot I am for damaging such a cool console! It's a Japanese HVC-101 model.

I managed to get a pin and "bend" the socket connectors back so they make a reasonably reliable connection once but it's not as good as it was. I'm worried I've shortened the life of my Famicom. Is there anyone here who would have a spare cartridge socket and be able to replace mine for me if I sent you the console unit? How much would you charge? Looking for someone in the UK who can do this.

Many thanks

OK, so after some *very* nervous pin bending through the slot - its working fine again. God that sucked! It looks like to bend the pins properly, you need a special screw driver to open the Famicom up. I had a complete knightmare using a sowing needle and trying to lever the pins forward again.

I guess if I could properly get at the socket; I could bend them easier with less risk of doing any permanent damage. Anyone else had to do this?

Hmm but it's working now? So you don't need to bend them anymore...  :D
