I apologize if this is the wrong board for this, but the game identification topic seemed to be about identifying games based off of famicom carts which isn't exactly the kind of identification I'm looking for. I'm interested in finding out the name a certain game from the below video compilation of famicom games. The game starts at 4:29 and ends at 5:44 of the video. You are walking around in a Zelda 2 style overworld. Your character looks like a pirate. When you get into a battle, your character's health and enemies' health is depicted by lit candles. The game looks really fun. I'd be really grateful if someone could tell me the name of this game.

It's the Famicom version of Genpei Touma Den, originally an arcade action game made by Namco. The arcade and PC Engine versions are an action game with a variety of different play style areas, while the Famicom version is a more straight-forward RPG style game, strangely enough called a "computer boardgame" on the title screen.

Yeah it is "Genpei Touma Den - The computer board game" and I think it's part of the Fuuma series. I see how you think it looks like a pirate but it's actually a samurai with long red hair based on Kagekiyo of the Taira clan, a real historical person.

It's not strange at all that it's called a board game because it is a 1-4 player board game RPG mix and the game actually came with a physical board game including figurines, cards and counters. I don't know if it is used together with the electronic game though.

thanks for the replies! The game is pretty fun and from what I see it isn't too expensive on ebay either. I'll definitely be picking it up and adding it to my collection
