They all seem to have voltage protection though.

Looking at this one in particular: http://www.ebay.com/itm/5V-DC-3000mA-3A-AC-Adapter-Charger-Switching-Power-Supply-5-5mm-x-2-5mm-2A-New-/270944548823?pt=US_Monitor_Power_Supplies&hash=item3f158db7d7

Line regulation (full load).......±0.5%

Which means it spits out between 4.975 to 5.025 volts, which should be fine.

Oh great!

Welp, I got everything I need to get it working... picture quality is good but not as good as Youtube had led me to believe. (seems kinda fuzzy) (Although this may be because mine is version 3.0 and I believe 4.0 is the latest)

It works though, anybody interested in a review?

Did you try pressing the 'auto' button or playing around with the picture settings to improve picture quality?

I've found it looks great on an old CRT PC monitor but not as good on modern plasma/LCD TV's.

I have a gonbs and a scanlines generator, the quality is great on lcd screens with old consoles systems. I made a tutorial for french forums, about how to put old consoles on vga/lcd devices, I can import it here in english if it helps.

Also, no power supply is given with the gonbs as it is usually put in arcade systems, the power cable being plugged to the jamma connector (to +5v and ground signals).

I've already got it working so that isn't needed, thanks though.

I didn't spring for a scanline generator actually, didn't feel the need. Just the sync strike and GBS for me.
