I have one coming my way, today actually but since I'm planning on selling it on eBay I won't even open so here's pictures from an eBay seller (last two pics) and other images/info from Nintendo:

I haven't been up-to-date on DSes since the DSi. What's the marketing strategy behind the term embassador?

I wouldn't mind buying one or two of these just to sell as well. I remember when the Pikachu 3DS XL came out, I bought 2 for CAD$245 each and sold them on eBay for $450 each. This model of the 3DS seems to be going for the same prices so far. Limited edition consoles are great investments, and this one of the best ones to get.

I think the all-white color scheme looks pretty good, but I'm waiting for some kind of retro themed New 3DS for when I finally want to buy one for myself. I would love a Famicom, or even Super Famicom (even though Nintendo refuses to put SNES games on 3DS) limited edition. I also still have my relatively new Zelda Gold XL and clear-blue 2DS, so I can wait about a year for the New 3DS. I'm also waiting for more exclusive games to get released on it. Xenoblade Chronicles 3D looks pretty good, but I need more than that. Some people are thinking Twilight Princess will be ported to the New 3DS. I could possibly want that game too.

I'm also getting the regular sized New 3DS, not the XL. I already have an XL and I like the slightly smaller, more pocket size. I used to have the original black 3DS from launch, and loved how mini it was. I also really like the colored buttons and faceplates on the smaller unit. I'm excited.

I've decided that I'm going to sell all of my 3DS games, DS games, 2DS system and New 3DS plus with some bonus because I don't really make use of it at all and both 3DS systems (2DS: 9.2.0-20E, New 3DS: 9.0.0E) have the firmware that is capable of running flashcarts so that's another selling point.

Man, that's so cool. :o :o

I wish I knew how to get on these lists. I've been loyal for years, fill out the surveys, go to events, not to mention the Famicom and Color TV-Game stuff... D:

I would have picked one up if I had met the requirements - not sure exactly what they were but I believe you had to be one of the original ambassadors AND register a certain amount of games.

I kept hold of my registration points because they expire and there's nothing on the UK Club Nintendo I wanted - so either way I was not invited to purchase :( oh well.

My colleague was one of if not the first to upload pics though, hoping to see it in the flesh soon and would love one!

BUT... I may just make my own design with the detachable face-plates - pretty easy to laser-etch something into those at a later date, of course you wouldn't get the box etc. :bub:

MarioMania

I just don't really get it in this world

Buy stuff like this just to resell it for more

I just don't get it

It's just capitalism. Someone else is willing to pay top dollar for rare stuff like this, so why not.

Well, for those that would rather have the money than play it - it's like turning down $150, I'm certainly not in a lucky enough position to do say no to an easy £100.

Yeah, also think about the people who were not chosen by Nintendo for the Ambassador Program - some of them really need this special faceplate for the New 3DS. I am an original 3DS ambassador, and I also got the invites from Nintendo in the past for exclusive demos, so I should probably get an invite for this New 3DS. I actually sold 2 Super Smash Bros 3DS demo codes for $10 each, all because they couldn't wait until a week later when the demo was free for anyone to download. When you see opportunities like this, I say grab the bull by the horns and do it!!!

Btw, is there a limit of how many New 3DS systems you can buy? My girlfriend would also like to invest.  ;) She also just got into Amiibo investing lately as well. (I sold a Villager + Pikachu for $120 and that got her intrigued)

1x New 3DS per customer and it ended yesterday.

The Smash 3DS demo has unlimited tries so that's tad better than the normal demo for those who just want to keep playing on the same stage as Mario, Link, Villager or Mega Man.

Wow, us North Americans don't even get the New 3DS in regular size. So, no faceplates or portability for us. Dang. :(

I also don't like the look of the New 3DS XL Majora's Mask edition that much, I still like my old XL Zelda gold style with the triforce on it. I'm going to wait until more exclusives come out for it before I buy one.

There wasn't much Wii U news today unfortunately... oh well.

It's quite clear that Nintendo just doesn't care about the Wii U fanbase as the majority of its software/hardware sales are from 3DS.

I'm a bit annoyed because I watched the Nintendo Direct for Wii U announcements and there was so little to no interesting stuff they mentioned.. R.I.P SMTxFE. :'(

zmaster18

I want to see some new Wii U games soon, like Starfox, Zelda, Mario Sunshine HD, Metroid, F-ZERO :0 :0 and also whatever Project Guard and Project Giant Robot is. Miyamoto is working on the last two I think, as well as Starfox. If they can make a new Starfox, they can make a new F-Zero. But I doubt Nintendo will.

I'm also kind of excited for Wave 4 of Amiibo. I need Ness and Pacman! ;D

Forget GC games because if they didn't announce them yesterday then chances are they won't at all. All the good stuff of this Nintendo Direct was for the 3DS, and the only interesting bit of Wii U was Xenoblade.

To be honest, I've never really been excited about getting Amiibos (well I did during their E3 but due to the looking-down-Link, curved swords and low quality stuff) I just don't want them. I'd rather spend it on the games themselves.
