I think the idea was quite novel (if a bit naive on Atari's part, given the outlandish prizes) but there's really not much point to playing them nowadays other than curiosity. The games themselves remind me somewhat of Treasure Master, but I feel like that game (and I say this as an Atari 2600 fan) would be more fun to play.
