Error 22, but only for Blue Disk games?

I'm hoping someone here might have some insight. I've looked through the normal causes for error 22, but I'm not sure exactly what I should look into first. It's strange, but the Disk System works flawlessly with any yellow disk game I've put in it but is hit or miss with the blue ones. Normally with the blue ones it'll give me an Err. 22 on boot, but occasionally it'll boot, and then Err. 22 on when loading Side B.

The reason I'm not sure where to start is that I think most Err. 22 issues would also affect the yellow disk games. Also, at least with a few blue games, I know they're not blank since they've at least loaded to the A Side. Has anyone had something like this happen? If so, how did you fix it?

I don't buy, sell or trade at moment.
But my question is how hackers at that time were able to hack those games?(c)krzy

And how many of them show ERR22?

I've tested 4 Blue Disk games and 3 Yellow Disk games.

All 4 Blue Disk games showed ERR22 except on two occasions where two different ones were able to boot Side A, and then ERR22 when switching to Side B.

I've had no issues with any of the 3 Yellow Disk games with loading initially or loading Side B.

Do you think they are "original" or rewritten disks?

To the best of my knowledge they're original. The two that were able to boot briefly both had what was labeled on it.

By "original", I think 80sFREAK means its written by Nintendo or the Disk Writer kiosk which in both cases its fine.
If it's home-rewritten or not, is not very easy to know unless you did it yourself or a previous owner told you it is though.

I've never heard of blue disks causing problems more than other disks, so it might just be a coincidence that they are all blue. I imagine that blue disks would last longer due to the shutter.

Errors 20 to 27 are especially unreliable errors and generally means that either the disk or the disk drive is bad in some way (especially if they happen inconsistently). Since some disks works, I bet it's the disks and not the drive.

As for how to fix a bad disk:
If it's dirty, hopefully carefully cleaning the disks is enough.
If the disks has lost their magnetic orientation, there is not much to do except to rewrite it (which in turn leads to all the problems with home-rewritten games).
If the disk is physically damaged there is not much to do AFAIK.

After testing the rest of the Disk System games I have, I think you're right that it was a coincidence the blue ones were giving me the error. The rest of the yellow ones I own work, and two other blue ones ended up working without issue too. Just the ones I happened to test didn't work for whatever reason. Another person I messaged told me that the blue disks have been problematic for them as well, and had also recommended that I clean the disks.

Thanks for the help!
