I can't connect it properly, the above picture is the best I've been able to get, however there's also the matter of that no matter what buttons or switches I press on the thing, nothing seems to happen.

in case the picture doesn't display: https://imgur.com/mEO1vCN

try to make composite mod, the RF may be cone bad after all those years

When I test a Color TV game on my TV with RF on channel 95/96, this is pretty much as good as it gets. On the underside of the console, there are some holes where you can insert a small flat head screwdriver and you can adjust the potentiometers which will adjust the video. It may or may not help though...

Composite mod? Has someone finally done one? I didn't know it was possible, but I suppose anything with RF video can produce composite video.  :pacman:

Getting a fuzzy picture is one thing, but the fact that no buttons do anything is a separate issue isn't it? I mean if it's working shouldn't I be able to play it with a bad picture at least?

you have to check the wires and potenciometers on the pads :gamer:

Hello.. it looks like your TV doesnt tune to the Japanese specification.

the buttons are on a separate control board can be fully disassembled and cleaned, they are only cheap plastic with metal spring contacts.

try selecting game one and pressing the reset button, make sure the bats are on the screen, sometimes they can start off screen, move the dials to centre the bats.

as for composite / s-video mod.. it IS possible but it is more complicated.

This first generation console cpu doesn't emit a composite type video signal that can be tapped / cleaned up and output at the correct level instead it sends out a black and white lumiance signal with chroma data (r-b / r-y / burst).

theres a guy who converted his nintendo block game to output s-video, the colour tv game 15 is very similar hardware so it should work on that too but he didnt test it.

his circuit and info is here if you want to try it (you need to read Japanese or try some translation app)
