Anyone have tips on removing a Famicom Rack?

I have an FDS setup with a Famicom Rack installed. I've though about separating the units to possibly upgrade both.

Now, I've been putting off this jobby for quite some time... As I know it won't been fun and could be damaging the rare FR.

Has anyone ever undergone this monumental task?

It shouldn't be that hard right???
