Hi guys,
I bought a broken Twin Famicom AN-500B and the PPU is busted. I'm having trouble finding a replacement for it!
I'm sure the original PPU is discontinued, but do you have a reference of a compatible chip that can be bought today?

Thanks :)

PS: I don't want to mod it, just make it work.

You can get cheap broken famicom or famiclone to salvage the PPU, or just find UMC PPU cloene or other brand from alliexpres :)

Thanks for your reply!

Where do you find "cheap broken Famicom"?
On eBay they are not cheap and the shipping from Japan is not cheap either!

I'm more interested in buying a replacement PPU, but I haven't managed to find the reference of the chip than can replace the original AN-500B PPU.

Do you know any chips that can replace this PPU?

Thanks for the list, it's quite interesting.

I know I have a RP2C02E-0 but of course it is discontinued. Are you saying that I can replace it by any one of the list?
I found that doubtful ???

all PPUs and CPUs in 40 pin packages are discontinued, only NOAC's are not.
You have to find NTSC PPU on Aliexpress there are more PAL PPUs clones then NTSC ones. The particular one that I find is UA6528 an UMC brand from Korea , all is old stock and there are no guarantee that you will got a working chip, according to many comments i read. Here are you https://www.aliexpress.com/af/UA6528.html?d=y&origin=n&SearchText=UA6528&catId=0&initiative_id=SB_20210311063348

Be aware that to get "UA6528" the NTSC one , not the "UA6528P" the PAL N variant (see the list I give you in the previous comment)
I wish you luck !

Thanks for the info ;D
I'll try the UA6528 (without P) and cross my fingers for a working one :-[
