I though this would be interesting because you never know what type of PC everyone uses. I'll start with mine, it's a P4 crappy 1.6ghz (yeah need to upgrade) 160gb HD, 1 gb RAM, 256mb ATI 9250, DVD burner, USB Hub(because the tower only came with 2 usb connections lol) flat 19" monitor, windows xp pro, hmm I think that's about everything I can say about my crappy PC well it also has a horrible sound card that doesn't sound good at all when I play videos....it's sad but yeah I'm thinking of upgrading next year of the year after that because even though it has crappy specs, I can run a lot of programs well even office 07 (upgrading the ram to 1gig from 256mb did a hell of good to it) I will have a photo of it later today. Now, guys show off your awesome computers!!

133MHz

* AMD Athlon XP 1700+ overclocked to 2100+ with a custom cooling solution(*)
* ATi Radeon 9250 w/128MB mem (AGP 8X). and a crappy 4MB PCI video card
* MSI KT4AV-L mainboard
* 640MB DDR333 memory overclocked to 350
* 80 and 40GB hard drives
* LG 16X dual layer DVD burner
* PCI TV capture card
* Dual monitor setup (21" and 15" CRTs - the smaller one driven by the crappy video card)
* Windows XP Professional SP2 Pirate Edition - Yarr!

(*) Exchanging the 60mm fan in the heatsink for a 80mm one and jamming its wires into the floppy power connector ;D, and adding more case fans.

wow I like how you overclock your PC it's awesome! I do have a question about your dual monitors. You installed 2 video cards and plugged a monitor in each one? do you see the same thing in each one or are they individual??? did you do that because there was no dvi output ?

Yes. The good one gets to drive the big monitor and the crappy one gets to drive the small monitor.

Lol seeing the same thing on each one would be pointless :P. I have a bigass amorphous desktop (2176x870) which spans between the two monitors. I can move windows between them and stuff. I do most of my work on the big one and the small one keeps windows like Winamp, MSN, etc so I can see who's online without minimizing a bunch of windows, or work on something on the big screen while reading documentation on the small screen, things like that. I think it boosts productivity tenfold, once you go dual monitor, you'll never go back. ;)

My ATi card has DVI out, but I use CRT screens which don't have DVI inputs :P

Yeah.  8)
And that was nearly 4 years ago! It's the April 2004 model.

I can watch TV and DVDs on it without booting up Windows. That's a very nice feature.

edit: Woohoo, 1000th post. :)

That's why I try not to upload anything.  I live in a rural area, so that's about the best connection I can get, but I'm hoping out for a true two-way cable connection soon...

Wow, you have a Mac OS running on custom hardware like that?  How difficult was it to get everything working under Mac OS X?

kite200

Well, it did take awhile to iron out everything and you can't just download an install disc and have it work for your system 100% out of the box with leopard. But, a lot of people have worked very hard to make some hardware compatible, and when I went to do this I was able to find drivers for my system which had to be placed into my install disk. It isn't for the faint of heart, and you will need to be familiar with terminal to do it but aside from that I didn't find it that hard. It works so well it's my only OS on this computer
