Sound problems

I have a problem with my motherboard sound card. The sound for MP3s plays great but when I play a video the sound is horrible. What's the problem???? I have upgraded the sound drivers to the latest versions as well as the media players. HELP!!!

Try the FFDshow codecs, it might help.
