Yeah a while ago I bought a NES game lot, and there were two Barbie games in the lot. I gave one of the Barbie games to one of my friends as a joke when I sold him a NES system. Anyways they looked exactly the same. Now I know that this game sucks real bad and its for girls and all, but I tested both games before I gave one of them to see if they did work and found something strange...one of the games had different music! I don't know if this was normal or not for the release of this game, but I checked some gameplay footage on Youtube just now and listened to it, and they all seem to have the same music as the one I gave to my friend. So the Barbie game I own right now has different game music than the other one I had and the ones I've seen on Youtube...anybody know something about this? :P

Doc

Well, does it look the same as the other cartridge? Is there different art?

Yeah it looks the same like all the other Barbie cartridges...Pink with a Barbie doll on it. But I just looked on youtube and found 1 video with the same version I have...

(By the way, the music only starts to get different when you see Barbie in bed.)

Now the question is, why 2 different versions with different music? :o

Weird. I have no idea why that's possible. I've never heard of it before.

There's definitely two different US versions.  There are two rom dumps floating around.  I wonder if they added an entirely new song, or simply shuffled the song order around.

I just wonder why they would go through the trouble of changing the music in the game when the game was already released. Between the two games there must be one that is an older version than the other, because if they did release both of these versions at the same time, well thats just...weird? ???

UglyJoe

No, they released them at separate times.  One is a revision of the other.  It's possible the song was just too similar to some other song so they had to change it.  We can only speculate, though.
