Is this an original game or is it a hack?

From what I've played of it, It's a simple graphical hack of a fairly average Taito platformer called Don Doko Don 2. Personally, I don't see what all the fuss is about, but I guess FF likes it because of the nostalgic factor that he played it when he was a kid.

Well it's easier if I said I lived in Peru during my childhood and pirate carts were plenty over there lol. I still play it a lot!

I beat it twice out of the three times I've played it so far.  The third time, I just messed around for a little bit lol

And yes, it's just a graphics hack of Don Doko Don 2, I like Mario 8 better though.  They changed a few colors in the background for the better, and the enemy mushrooms look a little different too.  I'm a big Mario fan, plus this is my first pirated Famicom game.  And I'm glad it's a Mario hack and the cart is green...which is my favorite color
