Hey, guys. I need help if anyone can please list games they know which have at least one of these, I'd over appreciate it:

They have to be within the 16-bit, 2D gaming domain. Maybe NES if I consider it. In case anyone gets funny ideas to derail this topic, I say now that this isn't some joke topic, it's a serious topic. Don't mean to stress it, but I'm tired of this type of thread getting treated like crap by trolls in other forums and the mods siding with the trolls (not here, I hope :) )

-Organic or robotic snake-like enemies/bosses (big sized). Please don't point to Snake Man  >:( like some other forums.
-Half to full screen-filling sky backgrounds. Day or night.
-Background with some mountains, whatever size and proximity to the foreground.
-Highway tunnels, maybe even sewer tunnels or just tunnels in general!
-Backgrounds which are cities, but not broken/demolished/damaged/destroyed :D
-Any alien-type level where the player descends deeper down into lair, that type of level.

For the curious, I'm ripping and modifying sprites/backgrounds to help someone for a Contra fan-game.
No tacos!

Damn, for the last one I was going to say Super C. :P

All NES:

1. Burai Fighter 2nd stage has a dragon-like enemy (I think). If you look at a speed-run of it, you're sure to find something interesting (enjoy the awesome music while you're at it ;)).
2. I want to say Journey to Silius - the first stage (it doesn't quite take up half the screen)
3. Rush 'n Attack
4. Battletoads stage 3 :-\
5. Batman, I guess. :-\
6. I want to say one of the Ninja Gaiden games (II or III) had something weird like this, but I don't remember which one. :(

6. Battletoads stage two where you fight all those annoying birds and plants.
I like to glitch old VHS tapes and turn them into visuals for live music events. Check out what I'm working on - www.instagram.com/tylerisneat

Snakes, I believe an entire Battletoads level is comprised of giant snakes (while they won't kill the toads per se, they are still giant snakes).

Sky filling backgrounds, I remember one of the Mega Man VI levels has an animated sunset flashing in the background (I want to say it's Tomahawk man's stage). maybe I'm thinking of Rygar.

Mountains, Rygar immediately comes to mind, again.

Tunnels, hmm, I'll have to think that one through. TMNT 3 has a good sewer level, but the perspective might not be right for what you need.

Background cities, again, Mega Man VI comes to mind, the first Mr. X level especially. Mighty Final Fight is a bit slummy, but might work. A Boy and His Blob, Double Dragon II and III might be good.

Descending into a lair, preferably alien, I'll have to get back to you on that one. I can't think of a non Contra game that has something like this.

Edit: Of course now I reread and notice the "16-bit" thing. I'll have to really rethink now.

UPDATE: All I need now is some 8/16-bit giant robotic snake sprite (not Snake Man, please). I checked the snakes from Battletoads and Burai Fighter (thanks guys) and, although they are candidates they still have a chance of not being considered for the project.

Anyone know any robotic/mechanized snake sprite from a game 8/16-bit?

NintendoKing

I know of a Snake sprite that looks cool when its tail is fully formed. Rattle from Snake Rattle N Roll on either NES or SMD.

Thanks for all this help, as an update, does anyone here know of the 8/16 bit era games which have tunnels as backgrounds (whether it's underground, facility-based or road)?

Rygar and it's Japanese counterpart Argos no Senshi has mountains, monsters and some tunnels.
