You could aways use a gamecube controller with your N64--if you're willing to pay.

Another build your own site:

1. maybe Nintendo assumed that carts are still placed back inside the box before putting in the shelves. inside a box would be awesome. but a bit hassle to open and play it up again.

2. mostly n64 games uses the analogue stick right.. hmmm.. when i first played starfox 64. i have really problem with the controls. but i get used to it as time passes by.  :D

That Hori Pad doens't really look like you're able to play Mischief Makers with it. At least it doesn't look like you want to play any D-Pad game with it  ;D
I think the N64 controller is the best one Nintendo ever made, and the precision of a new analog stick is unreached if it weren't for its shitty durability. .

1. I love the N64 but I hate that the carts are not labeled on top.

2. I know I am in the minority here but in all my years of gaming I consider the N64 controller to be the absolute worst piece of crap I've ever used and not just because of it's unnecessarily weird shape. The thing just feels like a toy, especially the analog stick, which has NO RESISTANCE at all. You push on it slightly and it flies right to the edge of whatever direction you pushed. I stopped using that controller when I started playing 1080 Snowboarding. That game takes extremely precise control, which I found to be impossible on that flimsy analog stick.

That's when I found the Super Pad 64 and I fell in love. This thing is a masterpiece and totally worth spending a little extra on. My 1080 skills went through the roof when I got it. Check it out:

I have never touched the standard N64 controller since and I am a better person as a result  :D

Found one of those at a pawn shop for $6. Haven't had a chance to use it yet.

You found a good deal then. They are selling for anywhere between $18 and $30 on eBay right now.But if anyone's interested there are currently two auctions that are selling N64 consoles with this Super Pad controller for $24 Buy It Now price. That's a steal!! Shipping is $15 but that's to be expected.

Really? Maybe I should just flip it then. (I have 5 controllers, that's one too many). It doesn't have a label but other then that it looks brand new.

EDIT: Here's one for barely over $1

Yeah, but it has already been bid up to $5.50 and has ten hours left. It will probably get up to the normal rate before it ends.

I have just replaced the analog stick in my N64 pad and now it plays as good as new. I feared that the replacementstick would feel too much like a GC or PS stick, but actually it feels very much like the original. Though, I'll still use my old wobbly pad for F-Zero X as it prevents me from oversteering^^
