Hey all! So I got myself a Disk System the other day, and it just arrived but upon hooking it up and everything I can't get the thing to load the BIOS. I don't have any disks, so my only way of testing it is to let it just go through the BIOS but no matter how I put the RAM Adapter in or how many times/how long I do it, it won't show up! It showed up a total of three times, and all three times it was really garbled and all three times were within the first fifteen minutes of me trying to get it to work. About an hour after that and another fifteen minutes after waiting the night to try again, and I haven't seen anything from it again. Is it busted or is it just being really dumb?  :(

By that you mean the FDS itself, right? And to get inside the FDS i have to unscrew the six that are on the back? Sorry, I haven't done anything like this before so I'm sorry if these sound kind of stupid lmao ><

I get clean out the slot, though, but nothin' has changed, so...

EDIT: Ah, nevermind, I opened the RAM Adapter and there it was lmao... The chip says "Sony 864 1AX022 CXK5864PC-15L JAPAN" on it.

Ah, I just realized something after the guy I bought this from mentioned it: I've been using an original FDS charger without using a set-down converter, and there were already batteries in the FDS, so is it probable that I fried the poor thing... Man, that'd be a sucky way to end this but I totally didn't even realize that... It would explain why it kind of worked and then didn't...

This didn't damage your FDS; the FDS can use the Famicom's PSU without problems. Like 80s Freak said, you should have the boot screen with just the RAM adapter plugged in.

Do carts work okay on your Famicom?

Cleaned both of them up, still absolutely nothing. I can run Famicom games without any problems. This is crossing the border from annoying to stupid...
