After a VERY long hiatus from being active I am back. Very long story very short; I got sick and shut myself off from the world and just played famicom/nes while I collected via the Internet.  I have a HUGE soft spot for the disk system. It is very cool.

Now I have a question, I just got the fds version of zelda no Densetsu and I realized that the first page of the manual has an extra set of disk stickers as well as some link stickers.  What is the point of the extra disk stickers? Is this a set to make backups of the game?

Also, I bought a few games and some were used and one was brand new (awesome to open a brand new game, btw) they all work great exept for kid Icarus which I've had issues with. I get error 22 when starting the disk, but not always. And it's the only game I have that does this. It wouldn't save do I put tape over where someone broke the tabs out ;/. Well this fixed the problem with saving but it was kind of sketchy still as far as starting up.  I replaced the tape only on the A side and removed it for the b side, AND NOW IT WORKS FLAWLESSLY!?!?  Why is this? The b side is game data only (correct?) so why would tape stop it from starting?

Either way I'm sorry for not answering some emails and I hope to get back in the community actively.  What else it cool new and going on?  I'm under the impression that 80s Freak is making a cool famicom basic project.  Anything else similar to that people are working on?

Welcome back :)

Stickers are just stickers. They might came separately and last owner just left'em in the pack. Maybe related to disk kiosks? ???

ERR22 appeared, when system can't read second block. Header to be exact. I don't remember if Kid Icarus loading with copyright screen or without. If without, there is tricky loader, which also can check write protection tabs.

ERR27 is CRC error or, in simple words, "tape loading error". Hardware have +-10% tolerance to data rate, so motor speed is not an issue in most cases. Dirt on the surface of the disc/head, degaussing due to age and storing at high temperatures.

Famicom keyboard going very slow, not much changes while you AFK  :-[ Just did some wiring and cutted bottom metal sheet.
I don't buy, sell or trade at moment.
But my question is how hackers at that time were able to hack those games?(c)krzy
