I'm thinking of putting it in a Salamander shell if it'll fit.  Sounds like it'll fit the early UNROM shells, so I imagine plenty of others will also fit.  Mine's shipped, so I'll know soon enough.  Only thing I'm wary of is cutting a USB slot.

So wonder what kind of cheapy famicom games have the same type of shell as the original Adventure Island?

Lots of Famicom games use the standard Nintendo-manufactured shell so I'd imagine a number of the cheapy games use it as well.

Yes they do.  I have a massive stack of shitters I might bust open to make into shells for the PCB for those that need them.  Need some rubber grips though to prevent damage.

Judging by the common holes in the PCBs, if the everdrive fits Adventure Island it should fit Salamander:

80sFreak may laugh at that assesment, but I have my hopes it'll fit:

Of course I'll need to wait until it arrives to be sure.  Will update with progress.
I like the idea of using this shell given the N8's sound abilities and Konami's penchant for sound enhancing chips.  They're also both blue  :octorok:

In any case let's see next week.

the world's going to shit, current gen gaming (while it does have some gems) is going to crap (and if some of the rumors about the next gen are true, it's just gonna get worse). Thank goodness for guys like Krikzz, Bunnyboy and emulator developers. Retro gaming FTW!!!
