FDS missing audio

It has recently come to my attention that the audio from some of my FDS games seems incomplete.  After checking YouTube clips, I can confirm that my famicom/fds is not outputting the full spectrum of sound.  For example, in Zelda 2 there is no music until the game's logo appears.  My standard famicom has an AV modification, so I'm not sure if the FDS is faulty, or if this problem is the result of a bad solder point in the mod.

any input is appreciated, thanks!  :help:

Does the mod disable the famicom'd RF output? if not, you could try using it to check if you get complete audio with it.

Regards.

More likely than not the AV mod was done to the wrong pin/without allowing the FM sound to pass through.  Check some guides and make sure the pin is right, or post board pics in the forum and let one of the pros take a look.

I think it was mine, but i don't remeber, if sound wire was soldered to pin #46 of the slot or to pad "sound" on PCB  :-[
I don't buy, sell or trade at moment.
But my question is how hackers at that time were able to hack those games?(c)krzy

I have taken a few pictures, please let me know if I should take more!

I have no idea what to look for  :-[

Shame on me  :-[ This brown wire should go to the pin #46 of the slot. Actually there is sound from extensions, but at very low level.

so to fix this, I should disconnect this brown wire, and then re-solder it to hole #46, as in step 8 at this URL?

please let me know if all I need to do it move this wire to the new location, or any other steps are needed.

Exactly. Just move the wire. IIRC, this unit from earlier batch  :-[

thanks, it worked! woo now i gotta start all my games over, they sound so much better now  :pow: :pow: :pow:

Sorry for these troubles. Two ways to do sound common - one is signal from pin 46, which has balanced mix of 2A03 and extensions and another one is take sound from expansion port(pad "sound" on PCB), which you can see on some japanese modded famicomes.
