Help identifying a PS2 problem

I have a PS2 slim with a matrix inifinity chip that I bought from a guy used. It's been working fine for 2 years but now it won't play most PS2 games, burned or not (although a few works, seemingly randomly). PS1 and DVD movies work fine for whatever reason. When a PS2 game don't work, it makes this sound. Any help appreciated.

The laser runners can go on them, I wonder if that's it.
