Does anyone know of games made specifically for autistic children especially ones for the DS but other platforms are ok

My autistic nephew really loves Angry Birds, actually.

He also seems to like a range of games on the Vsmile that my sister got him, especially ones related to cartoons and movies he likes. But he does seem easily discouraged by difficult stuff, so maybe you should start your kid off with easier games. Even ones intended for players a bit younger than him, perhaps.

I'm high-functioning autistic and I just pretty much played nothing but platformers and fighting games growing up. I doubt having autism would influence which video games the child likes, or if they even like video games whatsoever.
So ends another chapter in the glorious legend of the Ninja... Until next time...

As I understand it, the autistic often have trouble with surprises. They often take greater comfort than most of us when it comes to routine and predictability. Games with clear patterns could prove most desirable. Since pattern recognition is common to video games, you may have a lot of options indeed.

Call of Duty

I hope to god your joking.

Having Autism myself, I find that Call of Duty pisses me off.

I'm going to avoid any type of shooty war type games. I know there are lots of games autistic kids like but I am wondering if there are games developed with the needs of autistic kids in mind. I have friends and family with autistic children so i'm attempting to compile a list. My son is being  assessed for autism at pre school soon so i may need to know for myself. He does love the catz for the GBA but the GBA has had better days and tends to glitch out :(

it's better to wondering about what part of gamers suffers from autistic things. Do you really think that somebody will release the game not for selling $$$$$$$, but for kids? No, they want your money. :'( It's a market. Who will trying to satisfy 0.01% of possible gamers when 'angry birds'-like thing is really satisfying 10000x bigger amount of people?

Also, the world of money is so cruel :-[

I know there are some developed for the ipad and every autistic kid i've come across has ds or something similar. There is money in it but it's possibly not being capitalised on :P
