the gangfeng GB BOY came today :)
here are some pictures of it

After playing with it for a bit with some different games, I have made a pros/cons list for it

Pros: Screen is really nice, especially when playing Pokemon games, buttons are responsive, has an extension port just like GB Pocket, as well as power/av out contrast and volume controls, very similar to GB Pocket.
Cons: Doesn't play GBC games..i figured it wouldn't because it is grayscale screen, but that would have been cool. Sound is a little tinny and it is overclocked slightly, making it sorta annoying playing games.

Overall, i like this unit. I am definitely looking forward to seeing if anyone posts about the color version of the GB Boy,
I am a big Nintendo fan! especially GameBoy, N64, SFC, GC. And of course Mario games
I collect SFC/N64 mainly. Some rare famicom stuff too. Also miscellaneous video game stuff.

Really neat. Im excited for mine but I don't think it is even in Canada yet.

Do you have any bootleg games to test? Does the system have built in games if no cartridge is inserted?

I'm not sure I get it - why should I buy one of these over the original?  Can you take some pics of the screen running?  Thanks! :D

They are $15 new in box. And they are neat looking. Why would someone who owns an nes also buy a famicom when they can just get a converter? Because they are neat to have. I dunno. To each their own I guess. I'd be interested in seeing some pictures of the system running as well.

I should have worded myself a little clearer - I meant to ask, does it do anything better than a regular GBP?

I can see the appeal, at that price, but I would only pick one up myself if it did something special (it may do).

I purchased the GBC variant because of the backlit screen.

Has it arrived yet?  Looking forward to a review!!

here are some pics of the screen with a game playing (pocket monsters red)

1. On the Gangfeng GB

2. On Gameboy Pocket

I adjusted the contrast on both to the most optimum setting. As you can see, look at how clear the gangfeng screen is compared to gameboy pocket, which looks rather washed out in comparison

That's incredible, it's worlds apart!  OK NOW I get it  :bub:

Oh wow. I'm really surprised how clear and crisp the screen is. I can't wait for mine. From the videos I've watched, and from what I've read, the screen is amazing. Very vibrant colors, and bright (but not too bright) too bad their isnt a toggle switch or button for the screen brightness.

Got a link for those videos squire? :)

Thank you, I didn't realise it was just a google search - I'm definitely going to have to pick one of these up at some point, they look great!  Wish there was a backlit GBP style one though...
