So is the repro cart coming out or not?
Would love to have it for myself, and would be the first repro in my collection.

My honest opinion mind you I don't know any of this for sure just guessing. I don't think there will be a repro release I feel that they felt the differences were not enough to constitute a full repro release maybe they felt some people may have been disappointed.

The ROM was released today on NA from what I believe, there's a topic in this subforum:

In case you didn't see it that is, your post seemed like you missed it.  Could always make your own repro no?  I'm sure there will be a flood of repros soon now the ROM is out there so I'm guessing they changed their minds for some reason on an 'official' repro first release.

Thus far they have stayed mum on that...if that is the case though, totally boooo!!!  Ten thumbs down imo.  :(  TBH I don't play rom releases when they are made public, only will play on hardware.  If that is true, sucks for those of us that wanted an original release.  Ugh.

Had anyone here tested it on an Everdrive or Powerpak?  I assume people can make their own repros using the release, it's not some unusual mapper etc?

Mark and I are discussing options at the moment, that's why we've kept quiet. Realistically, once a rom is released it generally doesn't make sense for us to reproduce the game.  Repro makers are shark-like and often jump on the opportunity to cash in on public releases.  If there is enough interest in a reproduction run, Mark and I would likely still go forward with one.  But I'm not looking to lose another few thousand on a reproduction run that only a handful of people are going to want.  I hope that makes sense.

We're just glad that the rom is finally out there and everyone can play the game they've been missing out on for 25 years.

Well I'm in.  I'm not going to play the ROM and be done with it... How would you explain my 1000 strong collection of games that I pulled together well after having access to all released ROMs.
TAKE MY MONEY.

Yeah I tested it, it's MMC1 and works perfectly on Everdrive.

I hope I didn't sound too much like an ass in my last post bro.  I always appreciate the things that you guys do, and try to support Team Nolan when I can.  ;)  I was just a bit surprised and disappointed, I guess, as the last few months I had heard so much talk about how you guys were working on a repro of this one.  Famicom never gets cool stuff like that, so this is a bummer, but thanks for sharing the rom for everyone to try out.

Yeah I tested it, it's MMC1 and works perfectly on Everdrive.
And WRAM flag in the header reset. Anyway MMC1 donors are cheap.
I don't buy, sell or trade at moment.
But my question is how hackers at that time were able to hack those games?(c)krzy

QuoteThe format of the header is as follows:

    0-3: Constant $4E $45 $53 $1A ("NES" followed by MS-DOS end-of-file)
4: Size of PRG ROM in 16 KB units
5: Size of CHR ROM in 8 KB units (Value 0 means the board uses CHR RAM)
    6: Flags 6
    7: Flags 7
8: Size of PRG RAM in 8 KB units (Value 0 infers 8 KB for compatibility; see PRG RAM circuit)
    9: Flags 9
    10: Flags 10 (unofficial)
    11-15: Zero filled

Flags 6

||||+||+- 0xx0: vertical arrangement/horizontal mirroring (CIRAM A10 = PPU A11)

SRAM or WRAM for 6000-7FFF sorry for confusing  ;D
VRAM as CHRRAM
I don't buy, sell or trade at moment.

Ah of course! I should have known that $6000-$7FFF SRAM space is used for WRAM.

To the Nolan brothers - thanks again so much for making this possible.  While it's sad to not see a Famicom release, I think we all understand the reasons, would there be a place to donate as a means of thanks?  I know how much money you both had to pour in to this to make a release possible and am hugely appreciative of that positive frame of mind, let alone the personal costs involved.
