I just saw this on YHJ:

I'll have to try to track one down outside of an auction, that screen looks nice.

You call it "new" because it was recently developed and released? It looks pretty cool, but I'd never trust an ad pic.

FamicomFreak

Yeah it would be kewl except people have psps that can do that and more nowadays. I would still consider buying one if I ever saw one.

After researching it more, it appears to have been released in Japan in April of this year.

Looks nice, and if it were cheap enough I'd buy it just for the collection. :D
The special cart that comes with it also looks interesting.

Why the FC portable is not red and white?  :-\

I saw one of these on ebay for $100. If it were cheaper, I would have considered bidding, but alas, I wasn't too interested and instead choose a GameAxe Color, which I should have a review of up in a few days if all goes according to plan. Anyway, my thoughts on this:

It looks like a PSP clone. Look at it! black reflective plastic, Playstation style +pad, what looks like a widescreen screen..I do like how much the cartridge is consealed by the unit when placed, but one thing to consider: Famicom games are small, only about 4 1/2 inches wide. If the picture is accurite, I would guess the whole thing is only around 7 1/2 inchs from side to side, and the screen only 2 1/2, maybe 3 inches wide. That's pretty small. I do like the duel speaker desgin giving games sterio, (even though most don't support it) but the lack of turbo buttons is questionable and I'll bet this thing still drains batteries as fast as the GameAxe. As for the cart, its a simple 10-in 1 multicart that has very genaric games like Baseball, Tennis and Mario Bros... yawn. So yeah Switchstance, the reason its not red and white is because its suppose to be coping the Sony PSP.

Still, although I dont think this would be worth much, if I ever come across one on ebay for a good price rest assured I'll post a detailed review here on Famicom World. Cheers for now.

Here's a real pic I found on the net:

Here's a little more info:
W15.1×H9.1×D4.3cm
Weight: 180g
Screen size: 2.1" or about 52mmx40mm

It has a headphone out as well as an A/V out jack.

wow. thanks for the post. That button layout is wacky. I wonder how clear the screen is? Small LCD screens can be good if they are really sharp, like the Gameboy Micro. I really am getting cerious about this thing!

The button layout looks good; you can easily slide your thumb from the B button to the A to give Mario a running jump. :P

The Playstation-like D-pad looks promising, too.

satoshi_matrix

Does anyone know the offical name of this? is it just simply FC Mobile?

madman

Just FC Mobile.  I'm going to pick a few up, they're relative cheap from Japan.  Worst case I put them on EBay.

Have you ever heard of the Power Glove?  Or the U Force?  Or used an Atari 5200 controller?  Or any Madcatz controller for that matter.
