the dpad on the playstation is the worst thing ever created. period.

Have you ever heard of the Power Glove?  Or the U Force?  Or used an Atari 5200 controller?  Or any Madcatz controller for that matter.

Ahhahahahaha, Atari 5200 controller gets my vote for worst controller ever. That thing'll stop working if you so much as look at it wrong. The PowerGlove.....eeh you know its not so bad. It kind of works for some games. I hooked it up to my Wii via an NES-to-GC cable adaptor and was playing Ikaruga, Sonic Mega Collection's Blue Spheres, and Resident Evil 4 with it. Ikaruga worked best, but I think the biggest problem with the PowerGlove was that nobody was willing to give it the chance to get to know how to use it. You need to freakin memorize the manual.

Jedi Master Baiter

I've never used it myself, but it looks like it would work good with motion sensitive games like RC Pro Am - games where you steer.

madman

It doesn't work well with anything.  It's a piece of crapola.

satoshi_matrix

No, Jedi's right. RC Pro AM works fine with the PowerGlove assuming you set it up correctly.

Getting back on topic, anyone know where I can buy one of these FC Mobiles? If the price is decent I'd consider it.

I second that.
Nintendo's D-pads are the best.

How much are people willing to pay?  I may order a bunch from Japan.

satoshi_matrix

Somewhere at or around $30 US, or $50ish at most.

JC

I'm with satoshi on that one...definitely not more than $50.

madman

With shipping and everything, I don't think that'll be possible.  I'll try to buy one tomorrow during free time at work and report back when I get it.

Well, I returned the GameAxe I bought because its screen didn't work. The one I have now I got much cheaper, for $50.  How much does the FC Mobile retail for in Japan? I'd like to get one of these if the quality is decent, but I dont want to pay big bucks for another portible Famicom. The GameAxe is cool, but it isn't very portible. Its huge

speaking of famiclones I just read the review on this site about the yobo. I'm interested in getting it since it can replace my famicom and nes and I can put them away so I don't waste their lifetime anymore hehehe.

The FC mobiles on YHJ seem to go for 5000 Yen or maybe higher.
With shipping to the US that's easily 50$, or even more.

I'm the one who wrote that review. It's important to note that The Yobo FC Game Console USA Version is an NES clone, not a Famiclone. It plays NES games and requires an adaptor to play Famicom games. The system does come with an adaptor, but its useless to the Yobo as its a Famicom-to-NES adaptor, not an NES-to-Famicom adaptor as would be nessesary.

It plays most games the same as the real hardware, but you'll notice slightly different audio in a few games such as Super Mario Bros. 1, Mother, and Crystalis. It plays Zelda 1, but you'll notice random graphical glitches that appear at random on the screen, peices of the game code that for some reason is being displayed as such. And it won't play Castlevania III at all. Other than that though, it by and large is a better alternivite to the NEX which is larger and costs more and according to some who own it can damage your NES games. I don't think the Yobo should nessesarily replace the real hardware but it is nice that the entire system is about the size of two DS game cases stacked on each other.
