If it's CIB get it for sure.  Personally if the cart is nice and the manual tatty I'd grab it.  If the cart is grubby too, leave it.

What's a good price for a GBA-SP AGS-101 with the bright screen?

eBay prices are all over the place.

Well it is popular and useful, if you can get it for 60-75$ I think that is a good price.

Thanks Fred, think that'll be next on the list , I'd like to swap the screen out on my Famicom edition.

Yeah you can do it - you're swapping the screen behind that panel.  I've seen it done before so I'm definitely going to give it a shot.

It's not just the screen, you have to swap everything.

L___E___T

Yeah it's like a case swap, I should have clarified, but apparently it's not a hard swap.  Time will tell as soon as I can get an AGS 101.  I wouldn't swap my Limited Edition Club Nintendo one, but I'm willing to risk the regular version.

Well but the famicom GBA has a brown border so if you want to keep the brown border you have to open up the plastic glass and remove the brown border.

Have you done it as well?  I assumed it wasn't stuck together or anything - don't want to do it if it's not a clean swap!

Hell I wouldn't mind getting one but I bet shipping to the US would be a pretty penny.

I already have a couple of those actually from a fair few years back- they don't look as good as the pictures suggest though to be honest.  Not bad, just not official parts.

They do a Famicom Edition one as pictured and they also did a Ltd. edition Famicom one like the Club Nintendo style.  I have both those GBAs now so I will keep the after market shells wrapped up and unused for future keeping, you can't find them any more.

I found this page a while back also and asked about stock but got no reply - so a word of warning to anyone here - don't just place an order, it's a dud page and the stock has long since run out.  I don't think it's been updated since 2004 either.  I've asked again just in case, would be a nice surprise to get a reply but they ran out everywhere a long time ago so I'll be really surprised if they genuinely still have some left.

If by miracle they do, I'll grab a few and can send it to you if you like, would only cost a few bucks, especially if I include it in another package.

What is a Famicom version of Gimmick going for these days?

Well, the only two copies coming up on a completed listings search were a Buy-it-Now that went for about $150 shipped:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Gimmick-for-the-Nintendo-Famicom-by-Sunsoft-Family-Computer-Mr-Gimmick-NES-/251364990116?pt=Video_Games_Games&hash=item3a86855ca4

And an auction that sold for almost $350 shipped:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Gimmick-No-box-Instruction-Famicom-NES-JP-GAME-/331061626610?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4d14cf86f2

But I'm guessing (and hoping!) that's not the going rate just yet. There's three or four decent-looking copies on the 'Bay in the $300-400 range at the moment, and they don't necessarily look like they're going anywhere fast. I'm still hoping to score one for $200 or less... someday...
