FamicomFreak, I beleive "mini NES" is just a nickname for the NES 2. The NES 2 is a toploading NES released well into the SNES lifespan and is almost identical to the AV Famicom. It has a 72-pin US-NES style cartridge slot, two controller ports, but it lacks two things the AV Famicom has - the Famicom EXT port since the NES didn't use it and the most important difference - an AV port.

While the original boxy 'toaster' NES featured RF and AV video and mono audio, the NES 2 only offers RF. On the flipside, the AV Famicom only offers AV video with sterio audio. The nicest part of the AV Famicom is that it uses the same AV cable that every other Nintendo console up to the Wii uses, that T shaped hookup found with the SNES, N64 and Gamecube.

Some things to keep in mind:

1. the NES toaster and NES 2 are both North American systems that accomidate the larger 72pin NES carts.

2. the Famicom and the AV Famicom are both Japanese systems that accomidate the smaller 60pin Famicom carts.

3. All systems except for the original Famicom have interchangeable controllers. You can use any North American controller just fine on the AV Famicom or use the AV Famicom controllers with the NES.

4. The only system that produces sterio sound is the AV Famicom. The rest are all mono.

5. the NES 2 and AV Famicom are sexy little peices of Nintendo ass.

oooh... good question. You know, I would rather have the originals but even then my copy of Donkey Kong is in a Donkey Kong Jr. cart case (I think I even asked this group if it was real or fake and it turned out to be a fake case).

So originals if possible. Thanks guys.

I have Battle City in a multi-cart with Super Mario 1 and Duck Hunt.
I have it also in another multi with Dr. Mario, Super Mario Bros 1,Duck Hunt and Wild Gunman
I have Base ball  in a multi-cart with Jewelry ,Track and Field, Super Mario Bros 1,Circus Charlie, Duck Hunt

JC

Give me a couple weeks and I'll be posting all my dupes in my Extras thread.

JewWario

Sounds great. I edited my list and have gotten even closer to my goal.

But mulit-carts are expensive, aren't they? With the holidays coming on... I'm looking for deals... but if the price is right, those do sound tempting.

Can't wait. Thanks again gang. I appreciate it! And I was only looking for Castlevania 2/Akumajo Dracula 2 because it was released this previous week on VC. Oh well. The things we do for our collections, eh?

MaxXimus

Multi's with only a couple games on them are usually cheap, unless it has a rare game or is something like a rrockman 6 in 1.

Well that sounds better. Jabra, go ahead and PM me, if you will, with prices you would like for those and I'll let ya know if they're out of my range.

The 5 I marked off on my list above I got for $20 with shipping included (from Hong Kong) so you can see what deals I'm lookin' for

Except for the obvious REALLY rare/expensive games I'm trying to stay on the cheaper side here if I can.

CRAP! I forgot. If it helps (and it probably doesn't(laughs)) I have an extra copy of both "Moero! Pro Yakyuu" and "SD Gundam Gachyapon Senshi 3".

I know they're common, but I have them if anyone would like them for trade. I also have a Sachen Q-Boy that I don't need anymore since I got my Twin Famicom. It's a great clone.

Anyways...

JC

Try not to pay more than $20 for a multicart. The most I've ever paid was $30 and that was for a multicart with Power Rangers and Mortal Kombat.

MaxXimus

I payed about $35 for my 66 in 1, but only because it actually had 66 games in it. $20 to $35 is the very most I would pay for a multi though, but it had better be damn good! I probably wouldn't go back and pay that much next time though. Maybe $30.

Anyways. Yeah, haha.
