Did anyone notice the Engrish is supporting back up units!?!?! it is mentioning copy tool and easing the pain of software cost! LOL. that has to be the most EPIC stuff i've ever seen written! i now need to get me one of these.

I'd still like to know who the hell made this thing. Was it beeshu? Was it "Space International"? More questions than answers. I guess I'll probably never know considering how rare this stick is.

"cheap" is relative. Because of how astonishingly rare this stick is, the bidding war for it came to over 5,000 yen.

Sorry, I meant "cheap" as in "poorly constructed".  That's great that it feels good to play, and it's certainly a very rare find.  Nice score!

I still take issue with that. It is well constructed. It feels very solid and responsive. It doesn't have a metal base, but most sticks of its vintage didn't.

It's not the all-metal crazy expensive construction of the Ascii Stick, but it's not typical junk either.

There are tiers that arcade sticks fall into, and this isn't anywhere near top of the line, but it also isn't aliexpress generic USB arcade stick.

I'd say overall it's about where the NES Advantage is, although I think this stick is better.

They had made other Space Battle joysticks, and I saw another of theirs, company brand being Jeco International ( a company).

This post claims that it was advertised by none other than Hacker International, alongside a "remodeled Famicom" (the Hacker Junior, I guess). In the context of Hacker's involvement, the text on the thing makes a *lot* more sense, since FDS copy tools were a big thing for them at the time. So it seems likely that "SPACE International" is just Hacker International under another of their many aliases.

As for Jeco International .. presumably they were the Taiwanese OEM for both Hacker's Space Battle and Beeshu's Jammer, and they just took Hacker's box design for the original Space Battle and reused it for their own releases of various Famicom sticks.
They also put out a PC Engine version, seen here: http://www.pc-engine.co.uk/?section=controllers
and seem to have also gone by the name "Talent" at some point.

the thing that Is being forgotten though. With the talent example, is talent appears on the outside box exclusively, no mention of jeco, but jeco appears on the stick , no mention of talent. This suggests that talent was just a publisher name, whether something jeco made, or just a random company that paid jeco to re-brand their product. Both are equally plausible imo.

Regarding the hacker situation, no need to use the word claims,  it's personally confirmed by me. It was a hacker junior machine as well, plus the stick, and the copier disk, all together.

Damn, an FDS piracy company made a joystick. With everything bizarre and innovative Aitsu did, it's almost surprising they didn't follow suit, after all they were in many ways far superior to Hacker.
