Hi All,

I wanted to sell an OG x68000 computer and keyboard that I wanted to restore but never got time to do it. It has the OG color scheme and is in pretty good condition. I just turned it on once to see if it gets the red light and it did, I did not turn it on because one should never do it without replacing the caps in the system and PSU diodes etc.. I want to sell it because I dont really have time to restore it like the previous x68000 that I had.. The battery has not leaked I guess... I could not see any corrosion, I opened it up to take pictures and cleaned it up a little.. It looks to be in good shape and should work amazingly once restored.. You will also get an analog RGB cable and MIDI cable and Disks for creating Music I guess.. There are 2 disks in the drive - I put them to keep the heads in shape while shipping.. it also has the 1 MB RAM Module hence total is 2 MB.

Selling the entire set for 200 USD + Shipping from Japan.

Please PM me for offers!

This is a pretty good deal. Esp since the 1MB internal upgrade is included, which is absolutely necessary for most games. External ram upgrades also wouldn't even work without it.

Good luck with the sale

A friend of mine on this forum (Prince Tomato) just alerted me to this and I have some questions before I get too excited. What would I need to do/buy, apart from a recap/ PSU fix to play games on this machine from an SD card?
This is probably the only chance of me ever owning one of these, so I'm all ears :)

You need to do the following:

01. Buy the SxSI to CFcard : https://akiba-pc.watch.impress.co.jp/docs/news/news/668315.html?ref=twitter
02. Make internal SxSI cable and do a Pico PSU mod which will power the SxSI adaptor and the x68000

OR

02. You can get an external SASI HDD drive and remove the HDD drive in it and replace it with 01 CF to SXSI.

Load the Eidis image to SD and boot from the same. and you are done!

Actually, it's cheaper to buy a scsi2sd device like the one here:
http://store.inertialcomputing.com/SCSI2SD-p/scsi2sd-v5b.htm

Then you need a cable. The one here should work with a gender changer:
https://www.ebay.com/i/270837227488
https://www.ebay.com/i/311729538968

You can also build an internal one if that's what you like:
http://gamesx.com/wiki/lib/exe/detail.php?id=x68000%3Ahard_drive_on_sasi_machine&media=x68000:x68000_20pin_to_50pin_sasi_cable_diagram.jpg

Then you have to install the sxsi drivers on the x68000 by writing a floppy with this image:
http://nfggames.com/x68000/Misc/Drivers/SxSI%20V5%20with%20DMA%20patch%20Translated%20by%20Eidis/MasterDisk_V3.zip
The tutorial is here:
http://gamesx.com/wiki/doku.php?id=x68000:hard_drive_on_sasi_machine

Now you can boot from an sd card. Make sure you configure the scsi2sd properly via usb. Scsi id should be = 3 for sasi devices.

You can message me on here or post on nfggames if you need more help setting up

Hi guys. sold to me. ;)

Post Merge: October 21, 2017, 04:21:49 pm

That is what I plan on doing. SCSI2SD V5 in an external 3D printed enclosure. Internals would be fully restored. I will use original PSU if possible.

I have xrgb mini as well as 20" Sony PVM (20L2). Also 17" 4:3 PC LCD screen. suggestions on what to use for output and how to setup?

Oh the XRGB Mini doesnt like the x68000 ( even though both of them start with an x, LOL) Yyou should go with the OSSC

Hmm... guess I got here too late  :(
Thanks for all the tips anyway.
And Rama, if you ever come across something like this, I'd definitely still be interested.

got the system today. As always, super happy to buy stuff from Rama. His descriptions are always more negative than the item really is. I'm very very happy with the condition of the system and have already torn it apart and removed most of the caps. ;)

Time to rebuild this gem!!

Thanks Rama!!

I put them there for shipping pusposes.. Additionally maybe you should replace the diodes etc as well in the Psu..  And clean the psu with alcohol!
