Any way to make the Color TV-Game 15 work nowadays?

I just bought a 1977 Nintendo Color TV Game 15 for cheap, but as we know it uses that fucking little box and those pitchforks.
Why does that thing even have to be used? Why can't you just plug the RF cable into a TV and have a go? Can it be modified to do so?
I would like to be able to play the thing as well as look at it.

P

TVs back then had more primitive ways of connecting the antenna. There's no "normal" coaxial RF-jack in the RF-switch? Otherwise you could try to look for an adapter.

The best thing I've found for these is this sort of thing
edit better link
https://www.radioshack.com/products/radioshack-phono-rca-female-to-f-male-adapter

although I have no idea if that particular one is any good
for the intellivision I had to try a few before I got one that gave me a really good picture

Although I found the gold coloured ones work better than the silver ones but could just be a fluke

Basically you use that along with a standard RCA video cable to connect from the video output on your game to the coax input on your tv.

GRRR!
