I don't understand the video.

If cannabis was legal in Japan, that would be heaven on earth. Don't you agree?

I must be the only one who's glad it's not legal here :)

You're glad people's rights are limited? So would I if I hated weed.

I think cigarettes are dumb but people have the right to smoke them if they want.

Whatever, looks like my (unpopular) opinion is wrong.

How do you feel about alcohol?

L___E___T

I don't mind alcohol in moderation and enjoy a drink, but I don't like people drinking openly in the street either.

I know a lot of people enjoy a smoke, but I can't stand the stuff, I would hate it if it was allowed on the street.

I have quite strong opinions on it but at least I can say I'm informed.  I'm not infringing anyone's rights, but I can have an opinion on it just like anyone else.

I think it makes me sound like a sour person but I just don't like the stuff.

When I was much younger I was all for legalising it, if you can believe!

As someone from a country where drinking in the street is not allowed, I think it just causes more problems and hassle than necessary.  Heck, in some bars and restaurants, you even need to get the server to carry your drink if you want to sit outside, as the consumer is not allowed to do so him / herself!  I hate the limitations of not being able to sit in a grassy, secluded area with a friend or two and philosphize and drink a few beers, not allowed in public USA.  Always need to adjust back to such harsh rules when visiting back home.

About smoking and grass, not really a big fan of it, or other drugs either.  There was a time a few years back, extending into my earlier youth, where I felt that there wasn't an issue, as long as people acted responsible.  But then an incident occured that was particularly close to my heart, and I just began to resent the whole drug thing as a whole, and smoking has never been something I have been a huge fan of either.

Couldn't have said it better myself!  You can drink outdoors here but not be a nuisance.  To be honest many British rules seem strict to some people, so you do see many bend them and roll with the risk.

In Sweden you can't drink outside but people do it anyway. Rules are strict but often not enforced.

I'm with LET about drugs, not because I deny people rights and choices but because I believe drugs often has negative effects on the society. On the other hand I understand arguments that alcohol (something I enjoy a lot) also have negative effects on the society. I think it's good in moderation though because drinking with friends is good for relieving stress. I really enjoy that you can buy beer almost everywhere here (Japan), for not mentioning all nice drinking places with great food. In Sweden you almost always get crappy (and expensive for what it is) bar food.

All I know is that I've seen what alcohol can do to people and their bodies/minds. My one son Coltin only has 1 kidney. I hope that later in life if he chooses to take something to help him relax or have a good time, that it is marijuana over alcohol; alcohol could be fatal for him.

I guess it depends how you were raised. I used to love alcohol and despise marijuana and even looked down on people like my brother for smoking it(even though I had smoked it before to) that's how I was raised. I'm glad I quit drinking when I did though. I was headed to a bad place and marijuana keeps me away from that bad place.

P

Yeah I guess you can't generalize too much. I can't say that alcohol is better than marijuana in your case for example.

MaxXimus

Yup. It also has a lot to do with cultural and family beliefs. If you are taught your entire life that something is good or bad for you, your belief would tend to be swayed by that teaching.
