Famicom Disk System problem

Hi guys. I recently purchased a new famicom that came with a disk system. The Famicom works flawlessly, I have tested it with a lot of games. The disk system works well at first, but after a few minutes of gameplay it just... shuts down. It does this consistently, whether it is running on power supply or batteries. I have tried letting my famicom run on cartridges for a long period of time and it never shuts down. Only on the disk system. It reads the games great, save function works, changing sides never causes problems, it plays perfectly, and then after a few minutes it just shuts down.

Any ideas on what could be causing this/ways to fix it?

This may be a problem with the AC adapter for your Famicom console, not the Disk System. Check the specs of the AC adapter your using and make sure the volatge and amperage is correct.
