Hello!  Grin

I am proud to announce that the previously undumped Mario Bros Special ports for the PC-6601 and MZ-2200 are now dumped and preserved. We had come across both of them in an auction, lucked out and won. After a long time of waiting, they arrived. This now leaves only the SMC-777 and Hitachi S1 versions to be found and dumped.

I have put both ROMs up for download here https://fc.eludevisibility.org/. I should soon add some extra pages to the site as bonuses. I might add original game advertisements and other things there.

Are there any more versions of it?  I was only aware of one of them.  Do you know if they play identically?

There are quite a few versions. PC-8801, FM-777, and a bunch more actually exist. Only two remain undumped as of now. Hitachi S1 and FM-777.

They actually don't play identically. There are quite major differences in controls. There are also music and sprite differences.

The FM-7 version is dumped, it's the SMC-777 (as well as the S1 like you stated) versions that remains on the loose.
