Replacing Famicom ROM Chips with English Translated Chips

As I've been digging around on the internet, I've seen a few people pry apart their Famicom carts to replace the ROM chip in order to play a translated version of the game on original hardware.
Just for reference, how much work would need to go into this? How would you even go about getting or custom-ordering the English chips?

It really depends on the donor cartridge. If you use original famicom cartridges, you need to do a lot of rewire to the roms, because pinout doesn't match.
With clone cartridges, some games has rewritable EPROMS, so you can desolder the roms, reprogram and solder again. Simple as that.
Well, is not that simple. You need some great soldering skills. Very easy to break soldering tracks / burn pcb / things like that.

Just go to aliexpress and search there. Many of the translated or hacked roms appeared there as cartridges through time. There are also services to build custom cart from your rom for dirty cheap. Just saying.
