Storing FDS games without the plastic shroud?

I'm getting an FDS game without the plastic shroud that holds the manual. Should I remove the shrouds for all my games? Should I mix-and-match?

As in, the clear box that the manual and disk case fit into?

I just posted today looking for some of those...

I vote to ditch all the shrouds... and send em to me!

It's just more work to remove to play the games anyways...  ::)

Kidding aside, unless you want to sell a few, I'm on the same boat...

I have a few loose disks, some in the disk cassette and some missing only the shroud. Wondering what to do myself.

I just dont like my manuals/maps all running loose.

"Shroud"... is that the preferred nomenclature for said clear plastic box?

I like it.  8)

Why would you remove them? If you have them you won't loose the manual so easily. It's probably thanks to these things that disk system games more often still has the manual than cartridge games do.

There are of course also a number of games with manuals that doesn't fit in this case.

Never heard shroud before. I used to say something like outer soft plastic case and inner hard plastic case for the disk case.

I'm thinking of putting the shrouds behind my disks. Plus, just using the disk cases w/o shrouds doubles your space for FDS games!  ;D

And it makes them a bit faster to access.
Then again you need somewhere to store your shrouds.

Thank you, but why did this brighten your day?
P.S. "Shrouds" are not the official term for these, but it's the name that made the most sense.
