So recently(as in, today  ;D ), my Famicom and Disk System arrived! They were pretty dirty, but I did my best with a combination of Windex, alcohol, and baking soda to clean them(Famicom still has some patches I'm having a hard time getting rid of, but that's another story).

Anyway, the point is, the system came with a few loose FDS games. I've succeeded in making some VERY rudimentary sleeves to protect them from exposure, but that got me wondering. Does anyone have a scanned, unfolded sleeve to use as a template for printing or cutting new ones? I'd really appreciate such a thing, as my jobs have wasted quite a bit of paper, and aren't even that great. A scan(or any template for a disk sleeve of this variety) would be very helpful. Thanks a ton  :)

This  might help you - not the sleeve as such, but it may help you nonetheless:

I already knew about this, but thanks for spreading the resources. This is a great site for FDS cover art. If you think of anywhere I can get a sleeve template, I'd love to know.

How about these by Gamescanner?

Doesn't have measurements, but at the right res it will naturally align.
All you really need to do is print this, fold it, and glue (or tape) on two sides, with a bit of trimming.

This is actually perfect! The only thing I'll have to do is find out how to print this at the size it should be, which is surprisingly difficult on modern printing programs I've tried. But thanks for giving me the resource, I couldn't find this ANYWHERE.

TDownit_Strider

Well, a few tries later, and printing this at the right size is proving to be a NIGHTMARE. It isn't the file's fault-it's fine-but neither Paint nor Photos print it right. Paint just makes it really tiny when I set it to actual size, and Photos threatens to have it fill the page. Any tips are welcome.

Have you tried turning off the fill page // auto stretch settings on your printer?

Sounds like what you really need, is a PDF all set up and ready to just hit print.

Well, I found a roundabout solution, but let me walk you through my earlier process.

I'd set it up to print in Paint, turning the Page Setup to print at actual size. Then, I'd just print it. Funny enough, it turned out the problem WAS the file, as I wound up resizing it by a few bits of an inch, and got it to work.

So, after that I just carefully cut apart the one sleeve I had, and traced it. Then, I scanned the cutout, and now I have a printable template for future sleeves.

So, that's solved, just weirdly. A PDF would've definitely helped XD

(As a side, if anyone wants a link to the template I scanned, let me know)

I was feeling artsy-crafty, so I took a shot at making a template PDF.  Here's what I came up with:

https://famicomworld.com/Personal/uglyjoe/fds-sleeve.pdf

If I use the "fit to page" option when printing, it comes out at the proper size.

There is some room for improvement: the red color is darker than the red found on real sleeves; and the furigana is a bit harder to read than it is on the original sleeve that I scanned.  I'm pretty happy with it overall, though ;D

TDownit_Strider

Dang, that's really nice! I was pretty much trying to make that, but I ran out of motivation and patience XD
Very well done.

Hurrah for Joe - vote to get it up on the main page as a permanent file that live somewhere on the site.

I have an old file that someone uploaded to the forums long ago. I've used it to make a repro sleeve so it should be the right size.
