Super Famicom Distorted Screen Etc.

I am working on a Japanese Super Famicom which was dead - I now have a display of sorts, but a lot of distortion and the controller isn't working. Is this likely to be a CPU problem or could there be a simpler explanation? Any help appreciated (video is at https://youtu.be/TYFck2ZqZPs)!
