Hey there,

I have recently brought a Famicom Disk System off eBay. It was listed as untested however it was cheap so I thought I would try my luck.

It is in good cosmetic condition. I tried both batteries and PSU but it did not power up. I took it apart and noticed that the belt had perished. I brought a replacement and fitted this. I crossed my fingers and put it all back together but it didn't work. Now this is where my questions start:

The large white pulley was difficult to turn once the belt was replaced and put back together, is this right?

Would the red power light turn on if the disk drive is broken?

What's the best way to check that there is power going to the disk system?

Sorry for all the questions, I'm sure I will have more later.

Thanks
 :)

Question 1: yes it should be harder to turn than before, but not much.

Question 2: If the power indicator doesn't turn on when a disk is inserted [ assuming that it's plugged in] the belt may have slipped, but yes it will turn on if you insert a disk, even if the drive belt is perished.

Question 3: you may have to ask someone else about this.
Hope this helps
