Hi all. I bought an AV Famicom from Yahoo Auctions Japan, which was listed as confirmed from a seller with a lot of sales and 100% rating. So I'm fairly confident that it was working when shipped.

I tried it with a Sony Bravia TV (Japanese - I'm in Japan) connected by the included RCA lead, and using the included power supply which looks correct. When I switch on the Famicom, the display changes a bit, but it's still essentially black.

Then I tried it through my Retrotink 2x line doubler, which converts to HDMI, into my monitor. That didn't work either, but I've used it successfully before with a Commodore 64.

I've tried 2 different cartridges, both of which I'm fairly sure are good.

I've contacted the seller for help, but is there anything obvious I could be missing or try?

Thanks!

Never mind - I tried it again and was able to get Ninja-kun to work on my monitor via the RetroTink. Not sure what the problem was. Possibly a loose connection somewhere.
