Hello everyone,

I am doing some hacking to my Famicom, and wondered if anyone knows where I can find the following parts:

A. 5 and 7 pin Controller side connectors? (Parts that push into the PCB side)

B. A 15 Pin deep male expansion connector that is flat and not a right angle?

Thanks.

A) You mean 5- and 6-pin? Controllers only have 5 pins and a 6th one for the microphone on controller II.
Anyway, I think these are proprietary and not available anywhere.
The Twin Famicom is different and uses standard pin headers.

B) Neo Geo joystick extension cables are usually used for sourcing both male and female parts for the expansion port. Tototek sells them.
I'm using these myself, and they works perfectly fine.

I heard that the more shallow industry standard DA-15 connectors that are sold today actually works when using the male part, but not the female part. Famicom expansion port devices (and Neo Geo joysticks) can be hooked to an industry standard DA-15M but not the other way around (industry standard DA-15F connectors can't connect to the Famicom's expansion port).
I haven't really tested this though.

Hi.  Thanks for the info.  Maybe I will buy some junk controllers and use the end of the cables. As for the expansion port, I might just make some new flat ones myself that can be used for Famicom / Neo Geo as I do industrial 3D design.
